In May 2026, we visited the “Egidio Lanoce” Institute in Otranto for a day entirely dedicated to career guidance and creative work, viewed as a driver for social, cultural and economic change. The meeting provided students with the opportunity to engage directly with industry professionals, analyzing the complexity, the value, and the challenges that currently characterize the cultural sector.
During the training session, participants explored not only the technical and soft skills required by the market, but also opened an essential dialogue on professional sustainability topics: workers’ rights, local welfare, social security and safety in the workplace.
The event featured two organizations active in the cultural and musical landscape, offering students a comprehensive 360-degree overview through complementary viewpoints:
The non-profit approach was led by our president, Ludovico Esposito, who outlined the sector’s vision through the lens of the Third Sector and Social Economy. He shared insights into non-profit organizational models, philanthropic practices and the opportunities offered by cultural project design. The goal was to tangibly demonstrate how social impact, local development and cultural activities are all sides of the same coin.
The business and industry perspective, on the other side, was held by Giuseppe Bortone from the organization Da Zero a 99. The dialogue was enriched with deep dives into the market dynamics of the music industry, analyzing processes from booking and production to professional negotiation.
Engaging with the energy, questions, and curiosity of the younger generation confirms the urge to invest in conscious training and career guidance pathways. For Sud Sonico, empowering tomorrow’s professionals means, first and foremost, providing them with the critical and methodological tools necessary to continue developing the cultural sector in a responsible, forward-thinking and a sustainable manner.
