Sud Sonico is pleased to launch MEGA – Music Efforts for Green Activism, a capacity-building and information platform on the design of contemporary musical-ecological projects and initiatives. The aim of the project is to support curators, project managers, artists and non-profit artistic organisations in using music and sound as climate activism tools. The teachers for the first edition include sound architect Nicola Di Croce, Margherita Pevere and Filippo Rosati.
The newly launched project features: an in-person artistic-professional residency at KORA – Centro del Contemporaneo, a cultural space in Castrignano de’ Greci (Lecce, South Italy), open to participants from Italy and Europe to be selected through an open call; an open-source platform with case studies, resources, podcasts and interviews on music, sound, science and ecology.
MEGA aims to promote intercultural exchange, upskill and social cohesion between cultural and musical operators. The project, co-funded by the European Erasmus Plus programme, is designed by Sud Sonico and implemented in partnership with Musichelp (SE) and Ramdom (IT).
Follow the project on Facebook and Instagram, and apply to the open call by August 25th, 2025.
