South Quarantena #6: Zanca

New quarantine week, new playlist. Today it is Zanca, Italian musician, DJ and radio speaker, to present a new musical selection for the South Quarantine series.

Giancarlo Bruno is an insatiable record collector. He started his musical activism in the early 2000s in the creative forge of Radio Città Fujiko in Bologna. Over the years, he has collaborated with numerous Apulian radio stations. Nowadays, he keeps it alive by organizing events and talks, continuing to spread his cultural and musical knowledge.

Zanca has interpreted the playlist series by offering us refined and joyful albums which you can listen from sunrise until late night. In particular, he recommends the duo Boozoo Bajou, an unrivaled concentration of downtempo, jazz and classical; the singer-songwriter Sondre Lerche, among the most underrated pop musicians around; the histrionic funk soul of VULFPECK; the touching groove sound by RH Factor collective with “Hardgroove” (Roy Hargrove had gathered together people like Common, Erykah Badu, D’Angelo, Q-Tip, Me’Shell and others); and last but not least, the live recording of Keith Jarret’s concert in Cologne.

Enjoy the listening!
